drug identity
Takes any of the names a medicine goes by and returns the canonical identity behind it: the RxNorm concept with its identifier and term type, the active ingredients with their own identifiers, the strengths, the dose forms, and the brand names under which the same substance is sold. Term types are expanded rather than returned as codes, because the difference between an ingredient concept, a clinical drug and a branded pack determines what an identifier can be used for. The scope limitation.
